Job summary

Orchard Therapeutics, Ltd. (OTL) is looking for a Senior Associate, responsible for clinical program and commercial demand forecasts and supply. The supply chain manager will also be responsible for the management of inventory and shipment of gene therapy vectors and other biologics as required, to support clinical and some commercial functions for OTL products.

He/she will work with the contract development manufacturing organizations (CMOs) to create manufacturing timelines and ensure timely production for each specific patient. This person will provide comprehensive information, analytics and visibility around vector and drug product supply, along with CMO production capacity to both Cell Operations and Commercial. Collaboration within CMC, global commercial teams, regulatory, CMOs and third-party logistical providers is required.

Key Elements and Responsibilities

Planning

  • Co-ordinate forecasting for assigned programmes to ensure comprehensive capacity planning at the appropriate CMO
  • Co-ordinate the initiation and internal approval for POs to trigger manufacturing at CMOs
  • Manage inventories (current levels, dispositions and purpose of use)
  • Assist in the monthly Supply and Operations Planning (S&OP) process
  • Assist with the writing of SOPs
  • Manage shipments between multiple contract manufacturing sites
    • Schedule and arrange collections of materials with couriers
    • Follow-up on shipments and receipt of materials
  • Maintain shipment log and documentation records
  • Coordinate vector and related material requests with Analytical Development, QA, and others as needed
  • Co-ordinate the artwork process for all packaging components
  • Assist with business process and implementation of ERP system into the business

Logistics

  • Partner with Manufacturing, Quality, CMC, Clinical Operations and 3rd party courier around scheduling/timing of cell harvest and drug product shipment for clinical programmes
  • Work to GMP and complete docs to GMP standard

Business Process

  • Co-ordinate the artwork process for all packaging components
  • Assist with business process and implementation of ERP system into the business

Requirements

Required Knowledge

Experience in a pharmaceutical/biotechnology/medical devices environment

  • Experience shipping biological/pharmaceutical/scientific materials
  • Experience maintaining and managing inventories
  • Previous experience working with contract manufacturing sites
  • GMP
