A role based in London within a fast growing organisation. This role will require an individual that is comfortable with change, is hands on, and is quick, ready and willing to adapt to new challenges and circumstances. We require a qualified individual (ACCA/ACA accountant or equivalent) with several years experience within a relevant finance role, having gained sound experience across several finance disciplines.

Responsibilities

  • General Ledger account reconciliations – Responsible for preparing period end GL account reconciliations.
  • Responsible for accounting for and the reporting of sponsored research agreements
  • Responsible for preparing and processing month end Journals, Accruals, and other adjustments as required.
  • Payroll – Responsible for managing the payroll process for European payrolls on a monthly basis. This includes, obtaining relevant information internally, working with payroll providers who process the payrolls, query resolution and seeking advice from consultants where required.
  • Assisting with the completion of local annual audits and Statutory reporting for European entities using the support of external consultants where applicable
  • Responsible for monthly bank reconciliations
  • Running month or forex foreign exchange re-valuations
  • Cashflow management – Monitoring cash flow, cashflow reporting. Ensuring that use of cash is optimised. This includes the management of multiple currencies.
  • Responsible for ensuring accuracy of Sales billing in EU and follow up
  • Responsible for Royalty reporting and managing tax implications
  • Assisting the group in analysing monthly results where required
  • Taxation:
    • P11d/ PSA – Responsible for overseeing of P11d and PSA reporting compliance and similar equivalent taxes in other European jurisdictions including preparation of data and liaising with external consultants.
    • Responsible for Short Term Business Visitor reporting
    • Corporation tax – Assisting with the preparation of corporation tax returns for European entities including preparation of data and liaising with external consultants.
    • R&D Tax Credits – Assisting in the preparation of R&D tax credit claims working with external consultants and preparing provisions for the monthly accounts
    • VAT reporting – Assisting with submission of VAT report for European VAT registrations and related reports such as EC Sales and intrastat.
    • Other taxes – Assist in ensuring compliance with other taxes
  • Financial Control:
    • Assisting where required in the design, implementation and maintenance of financial SOP’s within a Sarbanes-Oxley Control environment
    • Assisting with the periodic external audits and reviews and liaising with external auditors.
  • Other – Assisting with the preparation of data and reports as and when required by the business

Requirements

Job Requirements

  • Strong experience of general ledger accounting and reporting
  • Strong experience in processing payroll and related reporting in a European setting, (P11d, PSA, STBV and EU equivalents)
  • Strong experience of other taxes within a European setting eg Corporation tax, R&D tax credits
  • Strong experience with accounting systems use eg SAP/Netsuite or similar accounting systems with ability to demonstrate a good understanding
  • A Pharmaceutical or Biotech Background would be ideal with exposure to Research and Development accounting.
  • Strong Excel experience essential with the ability to demonstrate a clear understanding of lookup functions, Pivot tables and similar functions/ reports with the ability to handle high volume data.
  • Strong relevant finance experience
  • A qualified ACCA/ACA accountant or similar
  • A strong communicator with the ability to communicate through the use of different means to a broad range of individuals at all levels.
  • A very organised individual with a high level of attention to detail with excellent timekeeping; required to meet internal and external deadlines to desired standard.
  • A motivated self-starter that is quick to learn and, takes responsibility for day to day activities with minimal input and direction.
