Job summary

As a member of the D-A-CH leadership team, the Associate Director Marketing oversees the development and execution of commercial strategies and tactics across Orchard Therapeutics current (Strimvelis) and future product portfolio in the D-A-CH region (Germany, Austria and Switzerland). Reporting to the Vice President and General Manager of the D-A-CH Region the incumbent will collaborate closely with cross-functional colleagues (within the D-A-CH organization and EMEA level like Marketing, Market-Access, Finance, Medical Affairs, Supply-Chain etc.) to drive the success of the overall Orchard´s portfolio of products.

Key Elements and Responsibilities

  • Develops the annual D-A-CH operating plan for the Orchard Therapeutics product portfolio, beginning with the post-launch activities of Strimvelis and pre-launch activities for OTL-200 in MLD
  • Develops the D-A-CH mid-long range strategic plan for the Orchard Therapeutics product portfolio covering all products and development programs in ADA-SCID, MLD and WAS for the 2020 – 2023 time corridor
  • Oversees all activities across the Communication-Mix (Education, Promotion, Advertising, PR, Social Media etc.)
  • Develops, manages and controls the operative budgets and initiates corrective measures if appropriate
  • Facilitates cross-communication and collaboration with patient organizations and other relevant 3rd parties in line with regional compliance guidelines
  • Contributes to establishing a great working environment driven by values of teamwork, excellence, personal responsibility & ownership, sense of urgency, focus and fun
  • Collaborates effectively across all Orchard Therapeutics functions to ensure D-A-CH commercial planning is understood, best practices are shared and supported across the entire organization
  • Ensure the development of core behaviours with a constant concern to meet legal, regulatory, ethical and social responsibility standards required by local laws and company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as appropriate


Required knowledge

  • 8+ years of experience within the pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry
  • 4+ years of experience within marketing
  • Experience with launch/commercialization of specialty products required
  • As a (strong) plus
    • Specialty or Orphan drug category experience
    • Small / Start-up company experience

  • Ability to travel up to 40% of time
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record


  • Advanced degree (Master’s degree, PhD or equivalent) in a scientific discipline and/ or Life Sciences. Further qualifications are an advantage
